100's Day

Thursday we celebrated our 100th day of school, hooray!!!!

What a wonderful school day!!!

We started out our day by joining up with another class (Mrs. April & Mrs. Ashley) to do 100 exercises followed by stinging 100 fruit loops to make a candy necklace followed by building a tower using 100 blocks...it was around this time when I began getting a bit tired of counting to a hundred but the day was just beginning! Next, we walked back to our class where we enjoyed 100 yummy snacks! Oh and Yes your math is right, I counted out a total of 1000 snacks for our display table (I am crazy!!!)..then we counted 26 kids out 100 snacks in their own cupc!!! Your probably asking yourself our they crazy and I will answer for all of us when I say YES but we love our kids and man they had so much fun! I can honestly say this day ran extremely smooth, we have an amazing class anyway but it was really a wonderful day. After an outside picnic followed by an attempt at a "nap time" we went back out side to eat our 100's day cupcakes Mrs. Franne and Caroline brought in.

Was it a fun day? Yes

Was it a tiring day? Oh Yea , I went to bed at 7:33 last night!!!

Bailey's Bow-tique

So, it is safe to say I went a bit over board last night making sweet bailey girl some hair bows. There are many things people do to reduce stress, for me last night it was making hairbows! I seriously got so caught up that I had 37 bows made before I knew it. I really need to stop though,  its getting to the point where Bailey could wear a hair bow a day till she’s 18 and never wear the same one twice! I need to learn to sew, how cute would these be on shirts and even skirts. Maybe, I could barter with someone-teach me to sew and I’ll make the bows???
Made the pink and blue ones to go with a couple of outfits I purchased at Gymboree this weekend -
they match perfect!

Thinking of making a bunch as mini-party favors for our garden party coming up in March, hopefully it is something the kids will enjoy and the parents will not throw away on the way out (ha-ha).

Wonderful Weekend Part 2

Sunday we invited Jay's sister Jill and her family over, Bailey was excited to spend the day with her cousins Lauren and Sarah. As you can tell from the picture below, the dress up clothes were the big hit. These girls played for hours, they were so cute! Jay and Keith went out in the woods later in the day and hid various toys of Baileys (stuffed animals) along a trail near our home, once they were back the girls loaded up in the truck to go on a "scavenger hunt" , I thought this was super sweet of the guys and while they were out with the girls-Jill and I went to town making Valentines and hair bows. Jill is a lot like me (well actually she is a lot more creative she is of course an art teacher) she likes making cards, and all sorts of crafts! We had a great time...here are a couple of items we worked on- I had more pictures but since I have had my new camera, it takes my computer FOREVER to load !!
Lauren, Sarah, & Bailey
Eating out on the porch, having a good ol' time
mini diaper fold valentine

Hershey Bar covered, a gift for Laurens teacher
Bigger diaper fold valentine, the pink heart is a hair bow- these are what I am doing
 for Baileys class...I think??

Bad picture but cute idea-My friend Franne showed me the m&m valentine-these bags are really cute. We made these for Lauren's pre-k class down south, of course she has hair bows too as toppers!

Another shot of bigger diaper fold valentines
Sweet tart candy filled in mini bags-Made these for my friend Wendy, thought her son may like the ornage and blue ones for the boys in his class (she doesn't know I did this, hope she doesn't care)

The hair bows, I love these as toppers. Thought... the little boys who get these on their valentines, could pass it to their moms as a little gift from them!

Well I am off to make more hair bows for the girls in my class and for who ever else wants some, really thinking of opening a little shop on etsy :)
Good night, Christy

Wonderful Weekend Part 1

I had such a wonderful, relaxing, jam packed weekend! Seems like I did so much in such in a short time so I am going to have to post multiple post.

Friday, Jay and I decided to stay in for the night hoping to give Bailey one more night of recovery (she has been battling a crazy cough since December 13th, went for x rays on wed and doc able to determine not pneumonia just a bad case of bronchitis, by the way after 5 days of meds she's different woman!) we stayed up watched movies and talked about everything we had so much fun just laughing and hanging out.

Saturday I met up with one of my friends for a fun trip to Hobby Lobby (one of the greatest places on earth), Michaels and of course Chic Fila. Together we shopped for Valentine ideas and Baileys upcoming fairy garden party!!! After shopping and gathering ideas and materials, we came back to my place to begin working on Baileys fairy tutu. I found a really sweet party on a blog last year and have been looking forward to Bailey's next party since. Check out TomKat Studio, if you have never before visited this site you are going to go crazy. She is amazing, one of the best party planners I have found. I used her candy theme set for baileys Super Sweet 3rd Birthday last year and today ordered her fairy invitations from her as well!
Ok, back to the outfit- I only bought five yards of tulle for the tutu but apparently you need a lot more, we only were able to complete about 1/4 of the project. So after eating some dinner and cleaning up and everyone leaving i got ready for bed, but couldn't sleep. I couldn't stop thinking of , my friend telling me how she got rid of some things of her daughters and really organized her room. Well lets just say I was inspired , anyone who knows me knows that  I tend to not keep things very long ( I am always changing and rearranging, ask any kid in my class!) The only items I tend to keep around very long are bailey's toys, I always feel so guilty when I try to get her to part with toys, tears begin to fall and I hear the same line "Mom, I play with that all the time, its my favorite" Well, guess I wasn't feeling to bad this night I condensed all of Baileys toys to one shelving system and a couple left in her closet! It looks awesome, I am happy with the end result! The next morning she was so excited, proably because she never knew up underneath all those toys was a bed!Maybe now she will start sleeping there...YEAH RIGHT!

No, this is not how my house normally looks but I pulled everything into my kitchen and living room to sort. Does anyone besides me have a problem with buyingto many buckets and baskets? I am addicted!

This is the computer room/playroom/craft room/throw your stuff in-room
! Of course Baileys toys fill the majority of space within this room!

End result of room above
End result of her bedroom
Clean and simple!
Sunday I spent the day making valentines, hairbows and birthday favors. I wil post more tonight, right now I am headed back to Hobby Lobby for more tulle!!! :)

Horse Party

 Bailey with the birthday girl
This weekend we went down to see Jay's family and celebrate our niece's 5th birthday. We had such a great time, the horse theme was a success! We were all out at ones of our friends farm and the kids had a blast running around. Bailey of course cried when we had to leave the horse, this child is afriad of nothing! Here are a couple of pics from the weekend.
