Snow Days

Monday we headed up to Tennessee to see Jays grandmother. We were so excited when we pulled up into her yard to see snow everywhere! Bailey was so excited, after eating some lunch with the family we put on a snow suit and headed out the doors. Jays Aunt DD pulled out a sled for us and that was it, Bailey was slipping and sliding for hours. Although her cheeks were red as ever she refused to admit that she was cold or wanted to go inside.

After hours of fun and spending time with the family we headed into Gatlinburg to get checked in to our hotel. The hotel was beautiful and right on top of a mountain! Now getting up there I was a bit nervous to say the least! However I was forced to over come my fear of heights since my husband booked the only hotel straight up, on the edge, of a mountain. Our trip was amazing, we had such a great time and I am so excited that Bailey was able to experience all the fun the snow brings. She was able to make a snowman, sled down hills, get into a snowball fights and sit by a camp fire as snow surrounded her and drink hot cocoa ! I don’t normally make new years resolutions but I am this year. This year I will enter 2011 making it a point to" ENJOY THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE!" Happy New years!!

Whoo's Cute???

This did not just happen!

I am so excited about our upcoming trip to the mountains, I have been cleaning for the past couple of days, folding laundry, packing and just trying to get things in order. There was one thing that I didn't have together though..shoes. I went out today looking for some boots and was really excited when I found the cutest pair at TJ Maxx. I don’t normally find a lot at stores where you have to "dig" but these perfect boots were just sitting in the aisle, it was like they were meant for me. I tried ONE shoe on and it was perfect! They were mine. I was so excited to get home and try them on for Jay, you can imagine the disappointment and frustration I was feeling when I realized that they were both a left shoe and the other one was a 9!! So…………. I called the store, the sales lady was so sweet she went throughout the store looking for my other shoe, but only found them in a size 8. As if I wasn't feeling bummed already as she was hanging up she said " Yea, those are some cute boots" YIKES!!!

Seriously, I have been online trying to find these boots and so far have found them in every color but tan not only that but my boots were on clearance for $25.00 and these are priced anywhere between $49-69. Oh well guess that’s what I get for not paying attention to details! My advice for the day...always try both shoes on :)

Christmas Cheer

What an amazing Christmas our family had this year! Christmas is always an extra busy time of year for us as well as many other I am sure, but I made it a point this year to enjoy ever minute, even the stressful times! Jay, Bailey and I started the holiday season off the week before Christmas by joining my brother and sister and their families at my moms house. Its always something crazy over there, like the dart board that has been re-gifted and passed between Jay and my brother for the past 5 years! Our my brother and I dueling it out over Jeopardy and wheel of fortune (we sound like our grandparents).

Christmas eve we spent time with his family at my brother n laws place down south, we always have a great time and the food was amazing. Bailey was blessed with MANY< MANY toys and lots of dress up clothes. She even got a MONKEY, ok she actually told Santa she wanted one!!

Once we were home that evening we got our baking gear out and made Santa some cookies and poured him a glass of milk. The look on her face when she woke up that morning to see an empty glass was priceless. She was so sweet opening her gifts, she made it a point that after each gift she would look at us and say "Thank you, this is wonderful". Which was pretty cute when she opened the shirt that by the look on her face she didn't like and still managed to say "Thank You this is Wonderful". Got to love her!!! God bless you all I hope you had an amazing Christmas and have a wonderful New Year!!

On a side note….I celebrated my birthday on the 21st which was also our last day of school before the winter break! My kids were so sweet ,I loved how one of my little girls made me a special birthday hat and then said" you are 21 right?" and of course I said "Yes honey, I am ". My husband surprised me before going to school with a Canon Rebel T1i, which totally shocked me. I was even more blown away when he told me he let go of a bike (he mountain bikes) to get this for me! He really is an amazing guy!

Georgia Bound!

Jay, Bailey and I returned today from a family trip to Georgia.. We had the best time, Friday we headed to Mulberry Gap, a little camping area up in the mountains of Ellijay. I felt like we were really roughing it, little cabin no bathrooms (in room) super cold, until I looked out the window to see all these campers on the ground sleeping in the freezing cold. The setup was so super cute, everyone at the camp site ate in the mess hall, supper and breakfast were cooked by the owners and we all just sat around and talked. This area is where Jay goes often to mountain bike (which he did get to do while we were there) so I earned some major wife points! Saturday we drove to Buford, Georgia where we just happen to be staying across the street form the biggest mall in Georgia- it was neat but way crowded! Sunday we spent the day in Macon, if you have never been...GO! It was so beautiful to me, Bailey was in aw of all the "castles". The weather was gorgeous, the trees were amazing and the time we were able to spend togther and the memories we made are priceless! Hope everyone has a great week!

Pray for my baby!

Before the doctors came in :)

Today I took Bailey back to the doctor to get the results from her sleep study. I was informed that Bailey has a severe case of sleep apnea. She will have to have her tonsils removed and her adenoids as well. Although, she had her adenoids removed when she was 23months there is a chance they have grown back. Due to the severity of her sleep apnea, instead of the surgery being an outpatient procedure (like the majority of tonsillectomies) she will be admitted to Shands Hospital and will stay overnight for observation, this will determine if she will have to stay longer. Bailey is a pretty observant child and as the doctor began to explain the details of the surgery Bailey began crying, she is so scared, asking me all the way home when the surgery was going to take place. I told her it was going to be o.k. that this was her way of getting nothing but ice cream and jello! I know she will be fine but she is my baby and I try not to but I worry about everything she does. Please pray for god’s protection and peace over her and wisdom for her doctors.

Vacation Time!

Is it me or has summer flown by? I have less than a month to get Bailey ready for her “first full year” of school! She is so excited, to go back and see her teachers and play with all her friends. However before all that happens, we planned one last small vacation.
We decided we’d go back to Orlando since Bailey had so much fun at Downtown Disney.

During the days we lived by the pool, Bailey had a blast in the pools but she especially loved the splash park.

I knew it wouln't be long till she crashed out!

 She actually fell asleep eating!

While at Downtown we took Bailey to see Toy Story 3, this was only Bailey’s 2nd time at the theaters and I am not sure watching it in 3D was the best way for her, she didn’t understand why things were coming at her! She ending up taking her glasses off half way through the movie!

That coke your looking at 5.50! What! When did movies get so expensive!!!

If you have not seen this movie, go watch it! Jay is still making fun of me that I got all teary eyed but it was such a cute movie.

Time to sleep little Bailey!

So, last night Jay, Bailey and I packed our bags and got ready for a fun filled night at .....
"The Shands Sleep Center". Far cry from a family vacation but hey we were all together! Bailey was so excited to stay at the "hotel", that is until she realized she would be hooked to multiple wires. She is a champ though and this morning she got a special My little Pony treat!!! Here are a couple of pics from the night and after this post I am headed to bed! Jay and Bailey are already passed out on the couch. It was a long night!
* I do want to add that we had the best nurses, the entire staff was so sweet!!!

Sweet dreams and goodnight day!!!

The end of the day....

Well it is some where around 11, I think??? Not really sure, but dishes are washed, house is clean and the last guest has left! We had such a great time, despite the not so good weather. Here are some pictures from the night!
First the food,
-Hamburger Cookies-
I found these online last night and had to make them.Of course mine do not look as good as the original picture I found but this was my first attempt. They are simple to make and Bailey had a blast helping. To make, you will need vanilla wafers (hamburger buns) thin mint cookies (hamburger) white icing (mayo) red icing (ketchup) and green icing (lettuce). No baking involved :)
These were some of the cupcakes we did. I found these cute little labels online at http://www.livinglocurto.com/ , she always has really cute downloads and lots of them are FREE! All I had to do was print them and then i used my SU scallpop punch and hot glued them to toothpicks.
These is a glimpse at the table before all the food came out, we had to set up inside due to all the rain!
Bailey and I in our Red, White and Blue!
As the rain began to pour I jumped online and began printing up crafts, I thought with 7 kids in the house I better have soemthing for them to do or our house would be turned upside down. The kids had fun, we made a star necklace (Bailey above coloring her necklace), colored watermelon pictures and did a 4th of July word search.
Here is Bailey with my mom (nanny)
Bailey eating watermelon.
Love this!
just looks like a bunch of smoke!
Me, mom and Bailey
I am waiting for Wendy to send me her pics and I will post more, I was so busy running around all night and she was so sweet to get lots of pics with her camera! Well I am sure it is getting late and I'm about to crash! Goodnight and I hope everyone had a safe 4th of July!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
