Looking Good!

Last night one of Bailey's sweet little friends Olivia, hosted a Mary Kay Makeup Party. You can imagine the excitement that filled the air, these girls were in heaven. Mrs. Heather gave them the full experiance during their makeover sessions. Each girl was greeted at the door by the lovely hostess and given a small pink bag filled with special treats. It was then time to find your spot and let the the party begin. First, the girls had to cleanse their hands, you simply can not put make up on with dirty hands! Next it was time to paint the face and when I say paint your face, that is just what hapend! The results were amazing ,I have never seen so many beautiful "women". It was as if they were getting ready for the prom, they were helping each other, checking each out and giving approval. I am so happy that I am able to present these lovely ladies:

Happy Birthday Johnny!

Don't you just love those "holidays" that you may not celebrate or even realized unless you are a teacher or have a child in elementary school?  For instatnce, Johnny Appleseeds birthday, did you realize that September 26th was his big day? To be honest I would have totally forgot had Baileys sweet teachers not included this info in their Friday letter. As I sat reading her letter for the first time Sunday evening (sorry Heather) I quickly realized I had forgot about this special day. I made a quick trip to publix to get supplies for party favors, let's be honest a party is not a  party with out the favors!
Keep in mind these favors were totally thrown together but Bailey was happpy and I was super mom in her eyes!!

Apple Jacks for Bailey's class

Applesauce for my 1st graders, my circle punch was perfect for covering the tops of these cups.

Where does it go?

Time, I remember being little and thinking when would this day ever get over, a day was a week, a week a month a month a year! Now it seems I can't keep up with my days, my weeks are more like days, my days like hours. I remember sitting back during the summer vowing to my self and my family I would keep my blog current, I even went as far to say I will blog every day..YEA RIGHT! For the first weekend since school began I feel like a have a couple minutes to catch everyone up on what we have been up to. Of course school has started, I love my new position! Bailey is doing wonderful, she has mastered all her letters and sounds and has started a reading program where she is learning to read and learning sight words! Jay is doing awesome, as always he is still OBSESSED with his bike, I think he wants to be the next Lance Armstrong, minus all the drug enhancement rumors. We have begun our quest to hit the most birthday parties and to spice things up we have decided to throw in some baby and wedding showers as well. According to my calendar our next free weekend falls sometime at the beginning of April! Gotta love it!

I am so missing all my "blog" freinds and I look forward to catching up on everyone's post!

Back to school & work!

This past Monday we started back to school.  Starting school was a bit harder this year becasue I had taken the whole summer off. Bailey and I lived it up that is for sure, vacationing all summer, late nights and sleeping in till 10 most day. Yes, that was the life, then reality set back in, bed time at 9 and up at 5, an hour drive to work and then an hour back home. Tired and all I still love my job, nothing beats being a teacher. I love working with kids and being close to Bailey is a huge plus!
I am loving my new position, first grade so far is wonderful! These guys know doubt keep me going and in one short week I have retired my heels and bought a new pair of white ked style shoes. I joke with my friends that without my heels I am the same height as my kids but I am ok with that.

I hope everyone had a great first week of school, here are a couple of pics from our first day!
