First Grade Rocks!!

I am LOVING my first year in 1st grade. The team is AMAZING, the kids are AMAZING and I am feeling AMAZING!!!  The only thing missing is my bestie in Pre-K Wendy (sad)
We have begun our Christmas unit, well I should say I am trying to incorporate as much holiday as possible. I have become somewhat addicted to this blog  1st grade parade, she has some amazing ideas. I bought a really cute template and we made her cute little elves and used their shirts to hold our writing prompt "I love the holidays because" and "For Christmas I want". They are so adorable, one of my favorites was by my sweet little girl who wrote " I love the holidays because there is no school. They were able to decorate their sweet elves, they each match their sweet and unique personalities.

Getting my craft on!

I just love Christmas and all that comes with it! This year I am putting together a little cookie party for my beautiful nieces. I have been pinning ideas like crazy (gotta love Pinterest) and I now have about 50 ideas that I need to condense down to 10. How do I choose! It is all so cute.

I began woking tonight on favor ideas and place settings, while at Target (LOVE) I came across Christmas sprees. I didn't even know that had these but when I saw them, I immediatly knew I had to have them! Every since my friend introduce me to these little bags over at GT Bags I am constatntly looking for knew ways to "stuff" them. I was praying these little sprees would fit and thank you Lord, they did!! I am so happy with how they turned out.

I used some left over Christmas paper from Stampin up! (background scallop) and word to print lables.

Reminds me of Polka Dots..I love!

My next project for my sister n laws, redneck wine glasses a bit modified. Left the lid on to hold treats!
Merry Christmas!!

Once upon a time............

Once upon a time, in a land just North of here, friends and family gathered to celebrate the upcoming birth of precious baby Ava. The beautiful mom to be was so excited to have everyone together.

I was super excited when my sweet friend Lisa , whom I have known since elementary school, asked me to help host her story book baby shower. It was a lot of fun! We found lots of amazing ideas as we scoured the internet, but the inspiration came from this adorable party found here

We used lots of the ideas, including the display of passages we found in old storybooks/fairytales. To go with the theme, we asked for new/old books in place of cards to help the mom to be create the perfect library for her beautiful baby.

As it always seems to happen you plan on taking hundreds of pictures, than the party is over before you know and you realize your camera sat in your bag! Thankfully I got some shots early in the day.

loved this vintage dish rack from tj maxx (aka my favorite homegoods store), it was perfect for holding all Ava's books. Of course, this was at the beginning and I didn't get a pic of it full!

another tj maxx find, perfect for party favors, cute hairbows made with bigshot

my favorite food at the party!! Yum, I actually had these at dinner tonight

party table

yummy cupcakes! toppers made from left over banner paper and good ol' microsoft word!

dessert table
vintage milk glasses (aka starbukcs glasses), paper straws and tin set gave a real vintage storybook feel

Caption:When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies. And now when every new baby is born its first laugh becomes a fairy. So there ought to be one fairy for every boy or girl

J.M Barrie

sweetest gift!
Lisa's mom packed up many things that were Lisa's from her childhood. Items including her baby blanket and little hat, a name plate and little bunny! I love this idea!!
Lisa received an old book that was one of her family members when they were a child.

I can not wait to see baby Ava!!

Soccer Mom

Yes, it's true. I have a new title and I just love it, Soccer Mom! My baby is playing her first sport ever and lets just say the entertainment factor is defiantly there. She is in the company of 9 other cute, cute little players. Her team name, Snot Rockets! Yes, thank you Cook Farms for the wonderful donation and the great name! It truly fits this group of kids, lets just say laughter fills the air when they get to tell someone their name. Games start tomorrow and I am sure I will obtain many photos so I will keep you posted. I am just praying for no broken bones or a busted nose! Did I mention Bailey plays goalie? Yep, lord please have your angels over us!!

Boys you better watch out!

wait guys, I need a moment to pose.

love!

Caroline, Bailey and Braley
*Braley was determined to be able to stand on her ball!

Stretch!!!

the kids love to keep one foot on the ball, this pose you will see through out practice!!

I am so proud of you Bai!

Excited about the weeks ahead and praying God's protection over all of our babies!!
